Poached Eggs on ToastPoaching eggs is simple. Like really simple. All you need is a pot, some water and a couple tablespoons of vinegar. After that, it’s all about paying a bit of attention and not forgetting them on the stove.

4 veggie-fed fresh farm eggs
2 or 3 tablespoons white vinegar
One pot of boiling water

Poached Eggs

Fill a medium-sized pot about 2/3 full with tap water and bring to a boil

Once boiling, add the vinegar and reduce heat to medium-high so that the water is at a low simmer

One at a time, crack eggs into a small bowl, then tip them from the bowl into the simmering water; repeat for each egg

After a minute or so, use a spatula to gently un-stick the eggs from the bottom

Let the eggs poach in the water until they are cooked how your date likes them (3 minutes for soft; 5 minutes for firm)

Using a slotted spoon, remove the eggs and place them on a clean tea-towel; very gently pat them dry – and you’re done
